Lymphatic Therapy Tips Here are some questions and answers we have received from some of our therapists.

Question: How much pressure should I use when performing manual therapy? Your Lymph nodes are like a drain and you need to know where these drains are to do proper lymphatic decongestive therapy.  Manual lymphatic massage requires very subtle sweeps and techniques and you should be trained in the "Vodder method" to perform this type therapy. Alternatively, if you are using our techniques, you don't have to push hard because the Lymph Drainage XP TM will do the work.  Small circular motions will break up congestion and then you need to gently sweep the fluid to the nearest drain i.e. large concentration of lymph nodes.  Our lymph flow chart will show you the flow and nearest drain to the area you are working.  Training with our Certified Lymphatic Decongestive Therapy Trainer will greatly help your understanding and results.

Question: Where on the body should I start when performing Lymphatic Decongestive Therapy or LDT? Based on years of successful therapies, our trainer has outlined a certain sequence to perform lymphatic decongestive therapy, typically starting at the clavicular nodes. Then proceed onto the next are as shown in our training program. If a major area of lymph nodes, fails to open, do not abandon an area and go to the next area.   If the area you are working fails to open, vary the settings high to low until the area opens (use your fine tuning dial on your Lymph Drainage XP or XP2.

Question: I only have one transmission head why should I get another? A second transmission head is a wonderful addition because when you are working on one area, you can place the probe in the next area in the sequence. The probe will be opening the next area and your time can be spent on therapy rather than opening lymph nodes.

Question: When performing the therapy on a client the treatment head drags or sticks to certain areas, what causes this?
This can be caused by one or two reasons. First make sure the therapy area is dry and clean (deodorants, lotions, etc) which can cause the transmission head to drag. Otherwise, this suggests that the area is congested. Stay on the area until it clears, try increasing the intensity level setting as well to change the pulse rate, then move on to the next area in the sequence.

Question: After therapyt my client complains of feeling sluggish and tired, what am I doing wrong? One of the most common causes is simply they are not drinking enough water after their therapy session. It's recommended they drink 6-8 glasses of filtered water immediately after their therapy.

Question: Can I perform therapy on myself, if so, what obstacles will I encounter? Yes you can and we have 1000's of clients like yourself. We currently are developing a training program just for self-therapy and should release it very soon. Since the best therapies are done lying down and it is very difficult to do the back side of your body without a friend helping you, we also offer couples pricing for our training programs. If you and a buddy each own Lymph Drainage XPs . . . you can do self therapy and help each other with the back side.
